About Ballia

Ballia is a city and a municipal board in Ballia district in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India. It is located on the banks of Ganges river; it is the district headquarters of Ballia district of Uttar Pradesh. Ballia is most estern district of UP. The langage mostly spoken in Ballia is Bhojpuri, a dialect of Hindi. Two main rivers – the Ganges and the Ghaghara – meet on the city's eastern boundary. An annual fair, the Dadari-Mela, is celebrated on a fairground at this river junction.

Ballia is the birth place of Mangal Pandey,Acharya Hajari Prasad Divedi and late Mr. Chandrashekhar (Ex PM).
